Family Reunions in London

I have a big family.

I never realised just how big until we started wedding planning. When it came to thinking about the invite list, my immediate family came to nearly 30 people while Matt’s barely reached double digits.

In addition to my family being very big, they also live all over Canada (and different parts of the world) so I haven’t been able to spend a lot of time with extended family.

As soon as Matt and I decided that we were definitely moving to London, I knew I had to contact my cousin Carrie in Belgium to arrange to meet up. After many emails and failed attempts, we finally booked a trip to see her in Belgium for mid January. Thanks to all her tips and list of must-see places, I really cannot wait to go there.

Last weekend Carrie came to London for a day trip. After a bit of searching on the busy streets of London, we met up and spent the day walking all over the city. We went to Islington to check out a cute little yarn store, Trafalgar Square to see the Canadian flags on Canada House, and the Southbank Christmas market.

The last time we saw each other was at her first wedding in Ottawa in 1991 and I was 4 years old. That’s the great thing about family, it doesn’t matter how long it’s been you just carry on talking and laughing like no time has passed at all. Can’t wait to see you again in January, Carrie!Carrie and I
